NICOLE + JONATHAN | YMCA OF THE ROCKIES WEDDING

Who knows how you're going to meet the love of your life? N+J has a story I've heard a few times. A young person leaves a small town for school, career, or adventure in Colorado. During a visit back to the hometown, a mutual friend or relative makes an introduction to the 'right' person, and two lives change forever. Maybe it's a form of duality: you want adventure in life, but for some things (like picking a spouse), you prefer something familiar (a common upbringing and values).  Nicole was in a large University graduate program when a visit home led to a casual meeting with the new young minister at the family church. "Nicole, may I introduce Minister Johnathan?" I quizzed both Nicole's mom and dad separately, asking if they had any hidden agendas. Both brushed it off, but Mom did give me a finger-over-the-lips "shhh" gesture.

The bride and her family got ready at Ponder Chapel. After taking some portraits there, we joined the guests at Overlook Chapel, where a September ceremony was officiated by one of Jonathan's favorite seminary instructors. The celebration continued with a fun reception for 40 in the Pine Room.

JENNA + AARON

A destination wedding in May, combining an outdoor ceremony at the Sara Smith Amphitheater with a reception in the Walnut Room. The homemade pies were a bit of a hit, and the bride + groom loved sneaking out at sunset for some photos on the ridge with Rocky Mountain National Park in the background.

SARA + STEVEN

Two game developers from Austin, looking for the perfect destination wedding spot, found it at YMCA Of The Rockies. The families came from all over the West to rally for their favorite coders.
