BOETTCHER MANSION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

BOETTCHER MANSION WEDDING | LAURA + MATT

Matt had a thing for Laura since Junior High. She avoided him. A class or two together in High School with him stragetizing for a seat closer to hers while she played it cool — her attention elsewhere. Somewhere towards the end of college, Laura spied a handsome Air Force fellow at a mutual friend's party. Surprise and attract followed in that immediate order.

Boettcher Mansion put on its Winter best for L+M's most awesome day. The former executive hunting lodge was drapped in cafe lights (Laura's request) and dinner was served family style which added to the warmth of the evening. Laura's Dad officiated the snows-about-to-start ceremony on the Winter Solstice. He incorporated a lot of old country symbolism, and gave them a cut log as a wedding gift (log cutting used to common European weddings centuries ago). Bavarian (and some Italian) couples would cut a large log in half to symbolize that they can get through tough problems by working together. A Dad's humor-filled, but sincere wish. From the day's images I particually liked the sequence my daughter Helen captured of Father and Daughter laughing it up just before their entrance into the processional.

Happily ever after — as soon as you get through the grand exit flower pedal gauntlet. The guests were really taking it out on Matt and a couple of times while shooting I couldn't even see his face. It's a fun-loving party crew, to be certain. I last spent the day with this posse earlier in the year at Meg and Mark's wedding in Colorado Springs. Now it's off to a ski honeymoon in Switzerland and life near the base in Florida. Visit home to play again in the snow whenever you like.

BOETTCHER MANsION WEDDING | SAM + JUSTIN

One trouble-free afternoon among the pines on top of mountain. Our bride had always dreamed of dancing under the patio lights at Boettcher, so setting her ceremony time later a bit made it happen! We arranged to take photos a bit earlier so the girls could get some sunlight in their hair. That's an easy change in schedule and one we recommend.
