WASHINGTON PARK BOATHOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
SONG FOR GEORGE
The famed gardens at George Washington’s Mount Vernon are the inspiration for this park's designs. One garden is an exact replica of a Mount Vernon flowerscape, and over the decades, Wash Park has gained a reputation as one of the Great Public Spaces in America. 155 acres of manicured bliss in the middle of the hippest neighborhood in South Denver.
BE THE LAKE
For the boathouse’s 100th Birthday, the City of Denver gave a needed renovation to the 3,000 square foot open-air event space. The early 20th-century vibe is preserved while gaining refreshed surfaces and up-to-date utilities. Evening Summer receptions are cooled with lake breezes, and the neighbors don’t seem to mind the dance volume.
To ensure great preparation photos, secure your getting-ready location within 15 minutes of the park. Contact me once you’ve chosen your spot so we can plan for fun, air-conditioned coverage. Let’s also discuss how to make the most of any beautiful backgrounds for portraits or group photos.
The Washington Park weddings I’ve photographed often include garden ceremonies along South Downing. To stay out of everyone’s way, I keep an ultra-telephoto lens on my shoulder, documenting emotion from a distance. Your officiant and guests will appreciate a photographer who stays in the background. Fewer distractions let your vows' emotion shine. After the recessional, we can smoothly handle family photos, sign the marriage license, and enjoy cocktail hour!
SNEAK OUT
Depending on your desires (and weather), we can plan a few couples’ mini-photo sessions throughout the day. Pop out to a scenic spot, get a few photos, and hop back to the party before anyone knows we’re going. I want you to have a wedding, not a photo shoot, and I aim to keep posed photo time to a minimum at your event.
