RED ROCKS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | JESSICA + ALEX

A destination wedding with bride & groom from Iowa, Red Rocks held a special place in both of their hearts. Independently, as they grew up, both made epic road trips to see their favorite musicians perform at the world's most famous outdoor concert venue. The cross-country journeys to see a band in another state take on a mythic quality in your memory over time. The rest stops, road food, budget hotels, fighting friends, and car troubles try to prove that it's not the destination; it's the journey. But in this case, it's all about the destination. The bands know it's one of the highlights of their tour and give a special push for Red Rocks concerts. As a wedding photographer, I also give a special push to Red Rocks weddings. This wedding was on a September day with diffused clouds, and the Denver metro was without rain for a couple of weeks. The rocks take on a browner look.

JENNIFER + ADAM

A 90-degree June afternoon, with rain the day before. The rocks are more colorful as they've been "washed" by that week's storm. This couple was both locals and loved the hiking along the fountain formations up and down that section of Colorado's Front Range. Those aisle flower petals add a nice color punch to the fresh Summer sod. After the ceremony officiated by our mutual friend, Mike Lee (who officiated my own wedding, 25 years ago), everyone piled into party vans for a top-floor reception at the Denver Grand Hyatt.
