ABOUT COLORADO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER TOM KOETTING
WHAT I’VE LEARNED AFTER PHOTOGRAPHING 1,200 WEDDINGS
Wedding photographs are more than a record of a beautiful, joyful day. They carry something deeper—connection, memory, and, over time, even a sense of longing for people who are no longer with us. They become family time capsules.
As the years pass, you’ll return to these images with new eyes. What once felt like a single day begins to represent something much larger—where you were, who you were with, and how quickly time moves. If I’ve done my job well, the feeling of that day stays constant, even as everything else changes.
Good photographs don’t just document the past—they become a way back to it.
WHO I PHOTOGRAPH
My clients come from all over the world. They span different cultures, ages, and backgrounds. They celebrate in different ways, with different traditions, music, and energy. What connects them is simple: a desire to preserve honest, unscripted moments—the ones that can’t be recreated.
STYLE CHANGES, TRUTH DOESN’T
I started as a film photographer, and that foundation still shapes how I see. My work is influenced by photographers like Garry Winogrand, Diane Arbus, William Eggleston, Vivian Maier, and Martin Parr—artists who focused on real life as it unfolded, not as it was staged. I still love the warmth, color, and texture of film. But weddings today move faster, and expectations have changed.
WHERE EXPERIENCE MEETS MODERN EXPECTATIONS
Most couples don’t want to wait months to relive their wedding day—and they shouldn’t have to. While many photographers take weeks (or longer) to deliver images, I’ve built a process that combines decades of experience with modern tools to deliver something different:
Your fully edited images are delivered within 72 hours—without sacrificing quality.
The result is a collection that feels timeless and film-inspired, but arrives fast enough to share, revisit, and enjoy while the experience is still fresh.
A BIT ABOUT ME
Friends describe me as curious, meticulous, creative, and occasionally a bit goofy. I take the work seriously—but not myself. On a wedding day, that means I’m attentive, adaptable, and easy to be around. I notice small moments, solve problems quietly, and keep things moving without adding pressure.
If you value real moments, a calm presence, and not having to wait weeks for your photos, we’ll likely be a great fit.
I’m now booking 2027 weddings, with a select number of 2026 dates still available. Please see the CONTACT button above to inquire about availability on your date.
THIS INSTAGRAM LIFE
When I’m not photographing or editing a wedding, you’ll frequently find me with a camera—on a hiking trail, bike path, ski slope, or some random street corner in the world that caught my eye. Because I shoot with a real camera so much, I’ll challenge myself with themes or restrictions just to keep it fresh. My latest thing is to shoot in widescreen 16x9 format, giving up a cinematic view of the world. Maybe I’ve watched too many Wes Anderson movies—what do you think of this style of life journaling?
