PINERY AT THE HILL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | COLORADO SPRINGS
PINERY AT THE HILL WEDDING | SHAUNESE + JOSHUA
A couple of times a year, I get the pleasure of photographing someone's wedding that I've known for a few years. I first met Shaunese along Boulder Creek at a friend's wedding a few years back and was blown away be her smile. It sneaks up on you with her cool charm then, bam! Full whites, lol. I spied on my marketing friend going through life's hiway on social media and was so excited when she met Joshua. Raised on huge farm, he traded that life to be a city dentist. Both bride + groom are mature, have been through ups and downs but bring strong family ties and a great mix of friends to the union. This pair will last.
AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH
The Pinery At The Hill sits high up in the Colorado Springs cityscape. The views from their reception banquet room add a commanding elegance to your party. Staff and accommodations are first rate — "yeah, we got this." The grounds provide easy ability to grab portraits with Pikes Peak in the background, or city lights depending on time of day. The bride's prep room might be the finest in Colorado. Women don't want to leave there. Shaunese had her posse in cute matching robes and everyone felt pampered pre ceremony. Lots of laughs when there's time and space to really experience what can be a crazy hectic time.
Shaunese left me nice online review from her experience ...
"Let me first start by saying that I have experienced three of Tom's weddings through friends and colleague's weddings I've attended and each one captured the personalities of the couples perfectly. Tom isn't just highly adept at photography and visual storytelling, he also takes the time to understand both the bride and groom's vision. I really liked that I was able to have several conversations with Tom and he guided me through the process and asked ME questions along the way as well. His expertise and strong eye for photography are apparent in his gallery, what each bride/groom wants to know is, "will you capture my day as beautifully as I experienced it". My answer to that question was, "yes, he absolutely did just that". I can be assured that my family, friends and loved ones in the future when viewing my pictures will experience me and my husband's special day with the same visceral reaction as the day of. Many splendid thanks to Tom. I have already referred and will continue to do so of his services. To anyone hesitant to speak with him, please do - you will not be disappointed! ... Our wedding day was simply beautiful, from the laughs, tears and dancing in the bridal and grooms suites to seeing each other’s faces for the first time, it was absolutely a reverie. Joshua and I are both very outdoorsy and we absolutely love Colorado for all of its natural beauty. We chose the Pinery at the Hill as our Ceremony and Reception venue because of the gorgeous backdrop views of Pike’s Peak, which is one of Colorado’s acclaimed 14,000 feet mountains. One of the first wedding decisions we made together was that we wanted to have a very small and intimate wedding with close family and friends which was wonderful. We also decided to make our vows our own by incorporating a tea ceremony which included tea blends from both of our hometowns that we served to both our parents. We also wrote our own vows in which we both expressed quirkiness of our love. I wouldn’t have changed anything about the day and I’m looking forward to next year when we will climb Pike’s Peak together for our anniversary and celebrate with a toast!"
