BELLA VISTA ESTATE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO

Steamboat Springs Wedding | Bella Vista Estate | Emery + Jordan
As featured in Colorado Weddings Magazine and Paper Moon Weddings
From Texas, Emery planned a perfect day in the Colorado Summer sun, and that's precisely what all the forces conspired to deliver. She's a special needs teacher with a big smile so bright several planets orbit around it (including Jordan). The groom's an accomplished business executive from Kansas City and families convened on paradise for this Colorado destination wedding. Both of my children were with me on this wedding — Helen (2nd shooting) and Cole (lighting & logistics) — and both gasped when we got out of the car to see Bella Vista Estate for the first time. Within a few minutes of walking the grounds Helen remarked, "Dad, we have to remember this place when I get married." I smiled and shot back, "great honey, but that's not for a million billion years."
All the wedding guests and family had an infectious altitude high and the day was very special to all the fellow vendors who teamed up to make the event unforgettable. The talents of Brio Saloon, Alpine Floral, Marnos Custom Catering, and The Fever were on display all day — wedding A team.
Shot Ski
Emery's step Dad was particularly proud of his shot ski. Conceived at the University Of British Columbia and perfected at the University in Colorado (Colorado Springs), the shot ski solves a practical problem. What to do with more timid drinking partners who might want to chicken out of the shot or weakly sip the shot? Enter the shot ski — once you're in that line and the glass tips, it's all together, and nobody's backing out! It became quite a light night hit. Of particular interest to me was the participation by guest far older than the intended college-aged partiers. Blame it on the altitude?
