Shadows Ranch Wedding Photographer Venue Review
Shadows Ranch is a magical wedding and event venue near Georgetown, Colorado — just a few minute’s drive from Exit 228 off Interstate 25. As a destination wedding spot, this location is perfect as guests have plenty of lodging options close by, and it’s at the gateway to fun around the Continental Divide.
Once on the property, wedding guests are enchanted. Shadows Ranch is a world of lush greens, colorful flowers, lily ponds, wolves, and hobbits. Both the bride and groom are treated to fun, separate preparation suites. The guys’ with a pool table, the girls’ with a large lit vanity. Both are a quick walk to the waterside ceremony site.
Ceremonies are punctuated by high altitude breezes through the aspens, and the occasional hummingbird buzzing away. While guests enjoy the balcony & lawn cocktail hour, the bride + groom spend a few moments alone on the novel wedding raft. Owner Joe Sysel understands the importance of smooth events and catering to VIPs as he was in singer Diana Ross’s management and logistics team for years. Proud of the area, Joe shows off the work of local artist in the entry area and around the reception building.
Receptions in the greenhouse take on a special feel. Natural light bathes the settings and the alpine glow from a mountain sunset adds a nice punch to any dinner. It’s almost like eating outdoors, but you’re protected from the fast moving storms that are a part of Colorado Summers. The greenhouse has room for dancing late into the night, and guests love exploring the bar, the balconies and the grounds lit up at night.
After the wedding, family and guests are ready to explore Colorado. Close by are big horn sheep, fly fishing, historic railroads, mining museums, wildflower trails, and high altitude hiking above treeline along the Continental Divide. Minutes from all this, while being just an hour from Downtown Denver. Wow, now that’s a location!
