Open range … no cellphone reception … Winter road closures … out there. Esterbrook Community Church is 30 miles (dirt road) from Glendo, Wyoming and is the epitome of all things rural. Scenic, rustic, with a strong sense of community from neighbors who have to endure long and isolated Winters together.
Enter Laura & Gary, two financial workers from Richmond Virginia. A google search for romantic Western wedding venues yielded this blog entry, and at that moment Laura found her wedding site. So without family or friends, the two flatlanders hopped on an airplane for their first visit to Wyoming … and their first step into marriage.
Kirby came over from Parsons Nook B&B to open up the doors, ring the church bell, and to officiate the exchange of vows. After a short ceremony, we wandered around the area looking for photo locations, then back to the B&B for some cake and champagne.
It was all very charming. Congratulations to Laura & Gary … i have a feeling the Western bug has bitten them hard and Wyoming might someday get two new residents. Need a Wyoming wedding photographer? Please visit my portfolio site for more information and availability.
