Kathryn + Sean’s wedding at Red Rocks Trading Post – last Friday at 4.30 (running late – rain delayed)
Then, just a half hour later …
C’mon, what’s a little rain on your Wedding Day? It’ll blow over in a few minutes.
Kathryn + Sean
Kat’s a soccer player (University of Colorado, and University of Kentucky), and in the groom’s corner is U.S. Air Force 2nd Lieutenant Sean Billings reporting for husband duty. The fresh rain really made the colors pop – how’s that for a bride’s entrance?
The reception was downtown, at the Walker Fine Art Gallery, with awesome calories from Occasions By Sandy. The cake topper was used Kat’s Grandparents … who were married on the same date, in 1940.
Who will lead this household?
Grandmother of the Bride added a fun German family tradition to the party. Whoever finished their drink first and grabbed the key became the ‘Head of the Household.’ A defeated Sean requested, “best 2 out of 3?” I liked his false start at the beginning, but most classic is Kathryn’s look just after she wins — as if to say, “Dude, I sooo killed you.” Scroll back to catch her glance. MC Johnny Cruz is by far my favorite Wedding DJ – killer tempo all night and he’s also a great MC at bringing toasts, first dances, and German key shots together and well organized.
