Karla + Matthew | Pelican Lakes Wedding Windsor, Colorado
Thanks to my daughter Helen for shooting this super fun day with me. Karla, Matthew, and their posse are fun loving people so we knew it’d be a rush, but nobody expected the sustained 45+ mph winds just three minutes before the ceremony. I’m with the wedding party, Helen’s following the bride (my son Cole driving the golf cart). The wind damage was significant. All the cocktail hour settings where blown into the lake and one small opening in the reception tent allowed a cyclone to disrupt all the dinner table settings. Anna and staff at Pelican Lakes Country Club were able to pull it all together with only 20 minute weather delay (I was impressed).
But what’s a little wind to a couple that’s been sweethearts since 8th grade, through Junior High, High School, and some fun years at Colorado State University (go Rams). Instant Colorado storms are usually following by magical skies and this Summer day was no exception. Looking at the first shot back at the top. Yow!
DJ Brian took the ready-to-party guest list into interstellar overdrive. Even the Windsor police wanted to party. Oh wait, they’re telling us to turn it down?
K+M, good luck with your new lives in SoCal. We know you’ll be back — in fact, we’re building a new stadium for your return.
If you’re planning a Pelican Lakes Wedding Windsor or other Northern Colorado event, I would be honored to document it. Please click on the camera below to see if I’m available on your day.
