Justine & Kyle
Lionscrest Manor in Lyons was the ceremony site for this culmination of this Fort Collins romance, with contributions by my favorite officiant Carolyn Carpenter, who has such a smooth presentation and a magic to pass over any akward ceremony moments. Michael at Pure Sound and Greenspoint Catering also brought the awesome sauce.
Not too many weddings go by that I don’t see a former wedding client, or member of a bridal party I’ve photographed previously. Last weekend was no exeception, as Christine & Nick were on the guest list (still in Fort Collins, yay!).
Photographer’s Notes
I got my arms in shape lugging around the recently revised “Big White” on evaluation from Canon Professional Services. It’s a great ceremony & toasting lens for sure and I often wonder if I should replace my various prime (fixed focal length) telephotos for one monster zoom for more versatility. While it’s nice not to change lenses as often, I’m still compelled by the lightweight and more discreet appearance of smaller primes. I overheard two guests at the ceremony remark, “Look at the size of that lens!” Not the comments a wedding photographer wants to hear. We desire to blend in — not be a spectacle.
Congratulations to Justine & Kyle — sunning right now on the beaches of Jamaica!
