Immanuel Community Church Wedding | Jess + Jesse | Fort Collins, Colorado
When two very active members of the same church marry, you can expect a super tight (and often large) wedding party, and an uncommon level of ceremony personalization from the officiant. Such was the case for J+J’s super fun happy Immanuel Community Church Wedding. Youth paster Joe Packard led this celebration of two star soccer players whose love of faith, service, and Starbucks is as strong as any couple I’ve ever photographed.
Prior to ceremony there was a touching gift exchange. Jessica packed up a keepsake box of a dozen momentos of the couple’s inspiring journey thus far. Jesse, gave his bride an elegant new bible for them to wear out the pages together — and perhaps create a perfect wedding gift for a future offspring. The ceremony had many moving and funny moments — my favorite was the wedding ring’s journey from hand to hand of the groomsmen … which magically grew with each passing. Look at how large it became in the end.
After some fun photos at nearby City Park, the congregation took over the Drake Centre for an evening of laughs, toasts, and oh — the dancing. Just before the entrance to Drake Centre we stopped at Starbucks store # 12646 for a little pick-me-up. It’s always been a special spot for the bride and groom, and was actually Jess’ second stop there on wedding day. Her Dad shared a cup with her that morning offering his well-wishes for her next chapter. It was this store where J+J first asked me to meet them to discuss wedding photography. Before leaving I joked that if by chance I read a story someday in the newspaper about an unexpected childbirth at a Fort Collins Starbucks … I’ll know where (and who) it is.
