Heather & Jesse | Broadmoor Community Church Wedding | Colorado Springs
Heather’s the kind of school teacher we all wished we had. Funny, bright, always positive. The room’s different when she walks in. Whenever I was around she’d chant my name “tomK, tomK, tomK!” So much for fly-on-the-wall wedding photojournalism, lol. Jesse’s her rock. A calming presence. Two different, that meet in the middle.
I just had to hold on and keep clicking the shutter. Dang, you might miss something.
Broadmoor Community Church is a progressive Christian fellowship (they have yoga & pilates on site), and the church architecture reflects that spirits. Assemetric. Inventive. Forward leaning. The grounds are lush and well-cared for. It’s an ideal wedding ceremony setting.
I really tried to shoot without a flash all day, as I loved the angular light creeping in across the dark woods and flagstone. Flash would’ve drowned out that nature vibe of the setting. I think it paid off. My favorite images have this intense side light and gentle fall off. The light through the veil for instance, sweet. I loved this day.
