Grace Lutheran Church Boulder Wedding | NCAR Reception | Janet & Peter
This couple comes to me from a long list of Colorado University referrals that goes back twenty years. Their same contacts allowed them to host a reception at the famed National Center for Atmospheric Research up along the foothills and I was quite excited to participate.
Grace Lutheran Church Boulder was completed in the late 1940’s and is a very special church. The intimate sanctuary is punctuated by balconies and a full circle of seats that gives it a feel unlike any church I’ve ever photographed. A bit Frank Lloyd Wright-ish, if I may. The Best Man had the best car, which transported J + P up to the NCAR campus. A classic 1962 Chevrolet Impala hardtop in popular blue with white top combo. Purchased in Boulder 10 years ago in roughly the same condition, he’s just taken good care of it all these years.
Everyone had a great time at the reception and it was a treat to be reunited with Pat Downey whom I worked with at KBCO back in the day. Pat did the Friday Morning Oldies feature on the station for years and really knows his stuff. Pat’s a special DJ in our own household as he loaned Sonia and I sound equipment for our own wedding reception. Thanks again, Pat! I really loved Janet & Pete’s handmade soap reception gifts. Awesome lavender scent! Planning a Grace Lutheran Boulder Wedding? Or perhaps another event in Boulder? Click on my Dad’s camera below to see if I’m available on your day!
