colorado destination weddings :: beaver meadows ranch
I’ve had the honor of documenting a number of very special weddings at
Beaver Meadows Ranch Resort outside of
Red Feather Lakes in Northern Colorado. There’s something enchanting about this venue that brings out the best in people. As the minutes and hours tick away leading up to ceremony, guests seem to forget about the real world and become very relaxed. Smiles become bigger, moods become carefree. The views of the Roosevelt National Forest are breathtaking, and the high altitude air is always crisp.
Highlighting the
Beaver Meadows Ranch wedding experience is time spent on Big Bear Island, home of the main reception pavilion. The log structure confortably holds 75 guests plus a full band with plenty of room to dance and party. Ceremonies are held at creekside at The Crossing and gentle sounds of running water accompany the exchange of vows. There’s endless photography opportunies at Beaver Meadows Ranch, and wedding coverages end up looking like pages from Outdoor Magazine.

My approach to photographing your day at Beaver Meadows Ranch is a photojournalist one – telling your story with a camera. Actually, two cameras in my case as I wear one on each shoulder all day. I enjoy going from sweeping wide-angle to super-tight telephoto without delay of changing lenses so having two cameras at the ready makes most sense. I also keep wireless off-camera flashes near by to add to the shifting natural light in the high country. The best moments of light of Beaver Meadows Ranch are fast moving and I want to capture them quickly, adding a little “help” when needed. Getting ready, ceremony, portraits, family group shots, reception toasts, dancing and partying are all included in your tomKphoto beaver meadows ranch photo coverage.
