Basia + Marek | St Mark Catholic Church Wedding | Terrace Gardens Reception
Life in abundance. B+M strive for abundance in everything … family, spirituality, food, drink, dance and song. To capture one wedding day in the lives of two super-humans was a challenge, be it a very fun one! Both of the couple’s families came from Poland’s hill country so their traditions and tastes (music, food) were the same and made planning the events easier for Basia. The bride’s dad made 30 bottles of his famous fruit-infused Polish vodka which started (and ended) the day with lots of laughs. The couple have a taste for French food so lunch at Café Mon Ami and a giant pastry table from Katherine’s French Bakery added a personal touch.
This was my first Mass said in Polish, but rituals are the same in any language and even though I don’t speak the language I knew exactly where we were. That’s reassuring as I’m photographing a Latin Mass next year and I’m less nervous about it now, lol. St Mark Parish is a dream to photograph in. Lots of access, sight lines, and plenty of sun light make the no-flash ceremony photos sing.
The reception at Terrace Gardens was over-the-top. Polish DJ / violinist and lots of dancing. That’s the magic solution for working off all that Polish food, French pasties, and the largest candy table I’ve ever seen at a wedding.
Planning a Denver Polish Catholic Wedding? Ceremony at St Mark Catholic Church? Or reception at Terrace Gardens? I’d be honored to document it — click on my Dad’s camera below to see if I’m available on your day.
