Alyssa & Garret | Keystone Winter Destination Wedding | Keystone, Colorado

The promise of snow and mountain-filled ceremony and reception toasts by the fire. That’s the romantic notion, delivered as promised in this Keystone Winter destination wedding. Ski Tip Lodge hosted these Texans who met during a mixer at their apartment complex. Together with their guests, the officiant, a harpist, two videographers and yours truly, there simply wasn’t any more room inside the ‘big’ room at the lodge. The close quarters along with the bright and low afternoon sun made for intense highlights and shadows — translating to dramatic images. The couple had some fun moments exchanging gifts. She got him a Big Green Egg which I hear is the living end in outdoor cooking. Very cool — how are you getting it back to Texas?

The lights were down low during dinner and I made a point to stay out of the way as much as possible. Document the scene and grab a few details. Be descrete. I did manage to get an image of my own seafood meal just before consumption. The reputation of this 1880’s stagecoach stop that became Colorado’s first ski lodge is intact. Their food is as breathtaking as the views down valley. Highly recommended for a meal, even if you don’t plan for an event here.
